Building for Generation Alpha
The rooms where the biggest decisions get made are also often the rooms with the least context. I've spent my life getting into them anyway.
I grew up in Canada working on the intersection of national security, democracy, and technology. My time is spent trying to close the gap between the three.
After founding the Canadian Defence Coalition (CDC), I focused on national security policy, and strengthening Canada's defence partnerships by bringing new innovative Canadian defence companies directly to military organizations. Earlier in that work, I was elected as a Federal Councillor at 14, helping shape party governance and national policy. Through the CDC, I chaired a delegation to The White House focused on the transition to Trump two ahead of the 2024 U.S. election. This centred on Canadian stake in transatlantic security and what a change in U.S. leadership meant for the alliance. I continue engagement with the National Security Council at The White House today through Hon. Michael's Applied AI.
Much of my work begins with a simple conviction: democracy is stronger when young people have a stake in it. That's why I founded the Young Politicians of Canada (YPC), a nonpartisan organization now thousands of members, dedicated to bringing young people into public service. Through it, We've contributed to legislative initiatives on sustainability and voting age and led a national commission on internet legislation. We managed to help get Bill C-63 split which would have led to a unanimous pass through the HoC prior to prorogation of Parliament in 2025. I also served as President and now as Executive Vice President to YATA-NATO Canada, where we brought in thousands of new members building professional engagement in international security/defence cooperation in Canada. In 2024, I represented Canada as a federal delegate to the 75th NATO Summit in Washington and was invited to address the Council of Europe's World Forum for Democracy.
That same interest in how institutions endure runs through the rest of my work. Under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), I co-led a working group on the valuation of environmental impacts, helping build an international framework for environmental metrics and accountability under ISO 14008 and ISO 14001. I am a Fellow at Section1, where I still continue to explore civic renewal and the future of liberal democracy working with Peter Biro (University of Toronto Law). In 2025, I became a Researcher at the University of Cambridge, Centre for the Future of Democracy, co-leading a team that used alternative datasets to examine the economies of data scarce regions (Russia, Iran, Lebanon). I'm currently engaged in efforts supporting the repatriation of Ukrainian children abducted during Russia's invasion.
